Hello Print Studio to launch in July

Hello Print Studio, a space for printmaking in Margate, will launch on 1st June 6th July. Together with other members of Resort Studios we will be throwing open our doors and inviting the public into the space for the first time. Hello Print Studio will be running printmaking demonstrations and giving people the chance to ask about our screenprinting, etching and relief printing workshops and residencies.

The studio is almost finished and has already hosted a trial linocut workshop. There are a few bits to finish before the launch, like plumbing in the etching sink and hooking up the uv exposure unit. We also have to build two large tables which will be used for workshops and will provide a surface for viewing large works on paper.

At the launch we will also be auctioning one-off artworks by the Resort artists and designers, with proceeds going towards supporting a residency for a recent local graduate. As established artists ourselves we know how hard it is to take the step from university or art school into the real world and one of our goals is to share our knowledge and facilities with those just starting out.
