First Linocut workshop at Hello Print Studio, Margate

I am delighted to announce the first linocut workshop at Hello Print Studio, Margate. Details as follows:

One Day linocut workshop
Saturday 10th August, 10am to 5pm
Adults £65, full-time students £50

In this one day linocut workshop you will learn how to plan, carve and print a simple, one-colour linocut. Under the expert guidance of Nick Morley (me!) you will learn:

• which materials to use and where to buy them
• planning, preparing and transferring an image onto your block
• cutting techniques using a variety of tools to make different marks
• how to control the tools and avoid slipping and accidents
• how to ink up the block perfectly every time
• which papers to use
• printing by hand using a wooden spoon or baren (printing tool)
• printing on a press
• registration techniques to ensure accurate positioning
