Coming soon – bigger and better linocut exhibition!

Things are gearing up nicely for the third installment of the touring linocut exhibition I have put together. Linoleum – The Cutting Edge will be on show at HemingwayArt in Oxfordshire from 14 – 29 April. This is the latest incarnation of BIG ASS Linocuts and Linomations, which showed at Pie Factory in Margate and High Roller Society in London last year. The exhibition will include new works – both prints and animations – by artists including Chris Pig and Bill Fick and one additional artist, Victoria Browne.

Here are Victoria’s prints hot off the press and waiting to be framed:

I paid a visit to East London Printmakers yesterday where I caught up with Wuon Gean Ho working on an exciting new animation. Here is a sneak preview. This will be exhibited alongside some of her original prints which appear in the animation.

I also caught Steve Edwards in the act of printing his new piece for the show, entitled Islands, which is huge and takes about two hours to ink up from scratch!

On Saturday 28 April we will also be organising a giant linocut steam roller event, along the lines of this one which I organised a couple of years ago at East London Printmakers. Members of the public will have a chance to take part – not to drive the steam roller unfortunately, but to help ink up and print an enormous linocut of a whale which I am planning!
